A Series of Unfortunate Events cont.?

I know I just posted a question about the train incident. I was looking for which book in the series the accident happens. Most of the people answered the first book, which I had originally thought, but I can't find it anywhere. I know it has to be in either the 1st, 2nd, or 3rd book, but if someone knows, can they please be as specific as they can as to where in the books it is? It's driving me crazy and I can't find it.
