I missed the pill and now i wont stop bleeding!?

I was SO stupid and missed three of the contraceptive pills (I'm on it for heavy and painful periods) and made the unfortunate mistake of taking three as soon as I realised how many I had missed! Unfortunatley this made me very ill and I threw up a lot! Anyway I started bleeding and even though I'm back into the regular pattern of taking my pill, the bleeding won't stop! Its been six days usually my period will last 5 days and will eventually stop a few days after I start taking the pill again! I am starting to get very scared because its very heavy and painful! I don't know whether to stop the pill for a week and have a break and then start it up again after I've had a proper break from it :S please help me!
