Will this is a good thing to do?

I live in the small but growing town of Gahanna, Ohio. I am gradauting as a Junior at 16, i have always had a kinder heart to helpping others. I like helpping people. Me and my sorta best friend trie raising money for a student with cerebral palsy so he could get this surgery. But when our school denied our request i have had this thought in the back of my mind of: helpping our student population with M.R.D.D or other other mental illnesses that stop them from having a normal life, at high school anyways. I want to riase money with like a bake-sale and give awareness of these students the general population; becuase they see them and see their differences and not who they are. And do other find raisers though out the year like a penny war( you have a can fro each home-room, and your students put in a penny a day and who puts silver change in your can gets point deducted. the people with the post points will win something like pizza or something) or another fund raiser and at the end of the year present the money to them infront of the whole school. what do you think?
